The Daily Schedule for Yoga Vacation at Sivananda Ashram Yoga Retreat - The day begins at 6:00am with morning silent-meditation for half-an-hour, followed by joyful chanting, a spiritual talk or reading, and closing prayers. At 8:00am, One-and-a-half hour session of asanas (yogic postures) and pranayama (yogic breathing techniques to invigorate the body and mind). Vegetarian brunch at 10:00am. After that - time for reading, study, to attend a special workshop, to swim, relax on the beach, or go snorkeling. Second session at 4:00pm for asana/pranayama class for the day. Dinner at 6:00pm and then satsang (meditation, chanting and talk) at 8:00pm completes your day. Lights-off at 10:00pm.
The Ashram organizes Special Programs, Music Festivals, Yoga Retreat, Lectures, Workshops, Concerts and Classes by Speakers, performers and artists and Symposiums during Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, Spring Break and other special times throughout the year.
It is recommended that you reserve a yoga vacation for any suitable time of the year well in advance. For the maximum benefits from the scince of Yoga, we recommend that you plan a minimum of one or two week yoga vacation, to ensure
that you receive a thorough step-by-step program equivalent to three to six months of weekly yoga classes. Though you may choose to visit for any length of time, even a short visit for a weekend stay is a good idea.
