About The Bayerischer Hof
You can't create a hotel of international standing overnight. It takes centuries. The Bayerischer Hof was opened in 1841 - on the wishes of King Ludwig I, who wanted a comfortable place for his guests to stay. The Bayerischer Hof has been owned by the Volkhardt family for over a hundred years. In other words: hospitality has a long tradition with us.

Accommodation
Since the day it first opened in 1841 to the present day, guests at the Bayerischer Hof have always demanded the best. From queens to Hollywood legends to pop stars. It has the stylishness of ambience, the variety of interior design in the rooms and the exclusivity of furnishings to satisfy the most exacting standards. After all, you don't just want to feel happy here. You want to feel at home. And with our 360° panoramic images you can take a short tour through our various rooms right now.

Rooms

It's marvellous when a hotel can always offer something new even to its regular guests. This is why the Bayerischer Hof offers you a choice of five different room styles. Admittedly it's not easy to decide. Having considered long and hard, if you still can't make up your mind there's only one thing for it: stay with us more often.

Cosmopolitan R &B Style
The interior with comfortable leather armchairs and handcrafted Wenge wood lamps by the French designer, Philippe Hurel gives these rooms a contemporary chic. In a sophisticated colour scheme with luxurious black, a rich red or exotic beige tones dominate the scene. Therefore R&B. The cosy atmosphere of the rooms with their cosmopolitan flair is enhanced by the precious fabrics by Manuel Canovas. And the spacious, sand-coloured marble-clad bathrooms.

Graf Pilati Style
These modern, elegant rooms, as well as many of the suites and the Palais Montgelas, were designed by the famous architect Siegward Graf Pilati.

Palais Montgelas
The Palais Montgelas, which is directly adjacent to the Bayerischer Hof, was built in 1806. Its very grand past still lives on in the building today. Prized antiques and walls lined with original wood panelling create an ambience of princely - or should that be kingly? - living. What's more, individual rooms and suites can be linked to create particularly generous room combinations.

Palais Montgelas 3rd floor
The rooms and suites in the Palais Montgelas are located in a separate wing of the Bayerischer Hof. The Palais offers ideal conditions for an undisturbed stay, especially for guests with high security requirements.

The suites and rooms can be linked together with the greatest ease. If desired, the entire third floor can be made available to you: reside in the largest suite in Europe (Guinness Book of Records), with 584.55 glorious square metres.

Palais Montgelas 4th floor
The rooms and suites in the Palais Montgelas are located in a separate wing of the Bayerischer Hof. The Palais offers ideal conditions for an undisturbed stay, especially for guests with high security requirements.

Conferences and Celebrations
What do you need for conferences and celebrations in the Bayerischer Hof? All you need is an occasion. The right setting is already there: you have a free choice from our 40 air-conditioned event rooms. How about the impressive ballroom ensemble, for example, or the stunning salons in the Palais Montgelas? Or the Dachgarten (roof garden), offering a magnificent view?
The choice is yours - you can view our event rooms online by clicking the Room Selection link at the top right of this page.

Meetings, Events and Incentives
A stay in the Bayerischer Hof is a coveted incentive. And of course it can be made even more attractive. Perhaps with a terrific concert in Munich's Philharmonie or Herkulessaal concert halls, or an evening at the opera. Or with an excursion to the famous castles at Neuschwanstein and Herrenchiemsee. Ask us. We'll be pleased to suggest some individual ideas.

Ballroom Ensemble
Whether for an important conference, an elegant ball, or simply the biggest birthday party in town - our ballroom ensemble can accommodate up to 2500 guests. In the ballroom itself, you can even gather under an open sky: its roof magically opens as if by an unseen hand, transforming the ballroom into a huge open-air stage. On request, we can expand the ballroom to suit your requirements by including the Atrium or falk's Bar, for example.
