Brief Garden - Kalawila

A marine park of multi – coloured fish and living corals. A variety of fish species are found here. Glass bottomed boats available on hire. Snorkeling and scuba diving are possible. It is 30 km to the south, on the coast.

Dutch Fort - Galle
Located in the coastal town of Galle the ancient Dutch Fort is a ‘world heritage’ site. After capturing the town from the Portuguese in 1640 the Dutch East India Company (VOC) started constructing fortifications covering 87 acres of land. Interesting sites include the fortress, original gateway, traditional Dutch buildings, a Dutch church built in 1752, the first maritime museum of Sri Lanka and the lighthouse. It is 50 km to the south, on the coast.
Fish Market - Beruwala
A typical Sri Lankan fish market where the night’s catch is auctioned to retail sellers. Active from 5.30 a.m. to 8.00 a.m. daily. It is 8 km to the north, on the coast.
Kanneliya - Galle Day Excursion
Located in the south east of Sri Lanka, ‘Kanneliya’ is a scenic rain forest reserve with a diverse variety of fauna and flora, many picturesque waterfalls. A full day’s journey, could be combined with a tour of Galle. It is 100 km to the south east.
Lunuganga
Beautifully landscaped gardens with a breathtaking view of the bordering Dedduwa lake, developed and nurtured by the world renowned Sri Lankan architect, Geoffrey Bawa. A host of rare flora awaits the nature lover at this location. It is 7 km to the east.
Maduganga River Safari
Cruise through the mangroves and the host of little islands along a river resplendent with natural beauty. Events such as boat rides, lagoon fishing available for your pleasure. It is 18 km to the south, on the coast.
Sinharaja Forest Reserve
Located in South-west Sri Lanka, it is the country’s last viable area of primary tropical rainforest. It is a world heritage site. More than 60% of the trees are endemic and many of them are considered rare. There is much endemic wildlife, especially birds, but the reserve is also home to over 50% of Sri Lanka’s endemic species of mammals and butterflies, as well as many kinds of insects, reptiles and rare amphibians. It is 80 km to the north-east.
